Three Generations in Seafood

From the Founder

You deserve better than a gamble.

You've done it before. Driven to the palengke early, picked the best-looking fish on the table, brought it home, cooked it right, and it still tasted malansa.

Or you ordered online, paid for "premium," and it arrived half-thawed in a soggy box. So you default to chicken. Again.

I grew up in this industry. My family has sourced seafood in Metro Manila for three generations. I know what pristine fish looks like at the port, and I know how fast the system ruins it before it reaches your kitchen.

The fish was never the problem. It was the 72 hours between the ocean and your plate.

That perfect bangus at the source? Malansa after a day on a market stall. That gorgeous salmon? Metallic after 48 hours under supermarket lights. Same fish. Ruined by the same broken supply chain.

Del Puerto exists to cut those 72 hours down to zero. We source from the suppliers that Manila's top restaurants trust. We freeze within hours of catch, not days. And we deliver in packaging built to survive Manila heat and traffic.

Every order arrives frozen solid, sushi-grade, guaranteed, or your money back.

Cook with confidence every time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before ordering

Is the seafood fresh or frozen? +

Frozen. And here's why that's actually better.

That "fresh" fish at the supermarket has been slowly degrading for 3 to 4 days. Ours is frozen at peak quality within hours of being caught. Which means it's actually fresher than "fresh."

Think of it like pressing pause the moment the seafood is at its absolute best. That's what proper freezing does.

Will the seafood taste or smell malansa? +

No. And here's why that happens in the first place.

That dreaded malansa smell and taste comes from one thing: decay over time. From the moment seafood leaves the water, a clock starts ticking. Every hour it sits on a market stall, under supermarket lights, or in transit, that fishy smell gets worse.

Our seafood is frozen at peak freshness, before that clock has a chance to run. When you thaw it in your kitchen, it smells and tastes like it was just caught. That's why your kids will actually eat it and your family will ask for seconds.

How is this different from frozen fish at SM or Landers? +

It comes down to when it was frozen and how it got to you.

Supermarket frozen fish often has an unclear history. You don't know when it was caught, when it was frozen, or how many times the cold chain was broken along the way. That's why the quality is so hit or miss.

Our seafood is frozen at peak freshness, vacuum-sealed to lock out air and freezer burn, and delivered to your door with cold chain integrity from our facility to your kitchen. Every product, every time.

Is the seafood pre-cleaned and ready to cook? +

Yes. Every product arrives cleaned, portioned, and vacuum-sealed. No gutting, no scaling, no mess.

Just thaw, season, and cook. You go straight from package to pan. No palengke-level prep work required.

What if my order arrives slightly thawed? +

A little softness on the surface is completely normal and does not affect the quality or safety of your seafood at all.

What matters is the core. As long as your seafood arrives with a firm, frozen core, it's in perfect condition. Think of it like ice cream on a hot day. The outside softens first, but the inside stays solid. Your seafood is the same.

In the rare case that your order arrives fully thawed to the core or damaged, just send us a photo and we'll replace your entire order or refund 100% of your money. No questions asked. You keep the product either way.

How do I pay? Do you accept COD? +

We accept GCash, Maya, credit and debit cards, and bank transfer through our secure checkout.

We don't currently offer COD, and here's why: every order requires us to prepare and pack your seafood fresh from our freezer with insulated packaging and ice packs. Prepayment lets us guarantee that your order is reserved, packed, and out the door on time with no delays.

But here's your safety net: if your seafood arrives thawed to the core or damaged in any way, we replace it or refund you in full. No questions, no hassle. You're never stuck paying for something that isn't perfect.
